Today we woke up to a complete downpour. At around two in the morning we heard loud thunder and saw a lot of lightening so we knew it was coming. We wanted to get an early start this morning so the rain was not a welcome turn of events! I kind of like sleeping in a tent during a rain storm, but I like the next day to be warm and sunny to dry everything out. We will just have to wait and see how the weather will be at our next stop.
The highlights of the drive today included driving over the Golden Gate Bridge and through San Francisco, and the beginning part of the Pacific Coast Highway. We considered skipping the Golden Gate Bridge because it was going to add significant time to our drive, but we decided it was worth it. Im glad we made that decision, not so much for the bridge, but because we got a much better view of San Francisco, which is beautiful.
We also got to experience the upper part of the Pacific Coast Highway, which is really beautiful to drive along. We will be driving the rest of it in a couple if days.
When we got to our site it was late (around 7:30), so we had to get everything set up and cook dinner all at the same time. By the time we were finished I, for one, was a little stressed. I am looking forward to a really low key day tomorrow at the campsite.
